is a phenomenal command because it allows you, if not selected, to apply compression to all the images in the <span id=\"urn:enhancement-c62b10ae\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01118\/entity\/presentation\">presentation<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This button is marked by default to avoid unintentionally compressing all the images, but, in my opinion, it is <strong>sensational<\/strong> to <strong>deselect and compress all the images<\/strong> together in one step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Flag the &#8220;<strong>Delete cropped areas of images<\/strong>&#8221; checkbox to remove areas outside the image cropping frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1333\" height=\"690\" src=\"https:\/\/shop.mauriziolacava.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/BLOG_Compress-Images_3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18721\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shop.mauriziolacava.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/BLOG_Compress-Images_3.png 1333w, https:\/\/shop.mauriziolacava.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/BLOG_Compress-Images_3-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/shop.mauriziolacava.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/BLOG_Compress-Images_3-768x398.png 768w, https:\/\/shop.mauriziolacava.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/BLOG_Compress-Images_3-1024x530.png 1024w, https:\/\/shop.mauriziolacava.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/BLOG_Compress-Images_3-600x311.png 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1333px) 100vw, 1333px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you think, the cropped area are parts of images that you have decided not to show in the presentation but that remain masked in your <span id=\"urn:enhancement-5d5eda95\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-creative-work\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01118\/entity\/microsoft_powerpoint\">PowerPoint<\/span> to occupy the memory unnecessarily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just be careful that once you have <strong>removed<\/strong> the <strong>cropped area<\/strong> using the compression function, you will <strong>not be able to recover it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Resolution<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The resolution of the real image. Obviously, <strong>the lower the resolution, the better the compression will be<\/strong> and the lower the quality of the image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At this point, however, you should know that the difference is the fate of the image. In fact, we don&#8217;t use higher resolutions to print the images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In general, since you project PowerPoint presentations, on screen, you can work with lower resolutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My advice is to<strong> stay at 150 ppi as much as you can<\/strong>, and if you need to compress the space in excess, up to 96 ppi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where are the PowerPoint images really located?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite the compression, the PowerPoint file continues to weigh heavily. There might be an image that can\u2019t be compressed beyond a certain threshold and that you&#8217;d better consider replacing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How do you identify which <span id=\"urn:enhancement-4b2052f\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01118\/entity\/image\">image<\/span> is creating the problem?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can not just scroll through the slides because you do not have indicators in PowerPoint to understand the weight of the images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To answer this question, you must<strong> learn to unzip a PowerPoint file,<\/strong> examine it, and analyze in detail all the images it brings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Actually, it is a simple and effective technique and the first time you do it will open a new world for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I will give you an example with the PowerPoint file that I am using to compose all the graphics in this <span id=\"urn:enhancement-b81ca5e0\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01118\/post\/pictures_for_a_powerpoint_presentation__where_to_source_them_for_free\">article<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The technique is to<strong> change the file extension from &#8220;pptx&#8221; to &#8220;zip&#8221;.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have created a copy of the file to do the example because I have the PowerPoint open, but it is not necessary to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/shop.mauriziolacava.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/BLOG_Compress-Images_4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18723\" width=\"530\" height=\"101\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shop.mauriziolacava.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/BLOG_Compress-Images_4.png 530w, https:\/\/shop.mauriziolacava.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/BLOG_Compress-Images_4-300x57.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 530px) 100vw, 530px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Open the zip file (you must have installed a tool to open the files, I use winrar).
